Well we can’t say we didn’t know that was coming. Given they’re expecting to manage this by people doing the right thing, and people are steadfastly refusing to do the right thing, why are we locking people out again?
I think the world got that a while ago sadly. Kicking covids butt a few times here in Mexico was tough yet achieved.

The peak has been reached and past is very common claims world wide and here. Sorry to think WA might be yet to join that peak is what many many think is about to occur sorry Brad. Culling pets in places is clearly a last gasp and doubt that will work either.

The great news is boosters help significantly. The bit from Israel about 4th dose and other bar humbug is really a question of if annual boosters will be rolled into annual flu vax I think! The Novavax/flu vax trial I did has been repeated with other vax types for exactly that reason I assume.

With a covid case upstairs none of us seem to get it happily. RAT test Wednesday and back to onsite work for me. 34 in Perth today must feel like a cool change sir.

Booster, wearing a surgical not cloth mask, and keeping your distance from people.

    Really?

It is likely to be a Bribe, don't touch it in case a Royal Commission may just be down the track & you won't want your dabs all over it.\\\

That'd be a bit handy if that is so. Just one trip to the qwax. They could leave the needle hanging out of your arm for next years & the next years after, ad infinitum, & we could all have our Personal Preferred Needle.

I wonder whether it will ever reach the stage where we can do it at home or online?

    Top marks.

Given I see only around half the people actually checking in anywhere now I can’t see it being of any use personally any more.

    Covid Mk ll

For those that like to follow the trends for the effective rate of reproduction, Chris Billington has now added WA:

    https://chrisbillington.net/COVID_WA.html

This will give you insight into the data the health advisors will be trending as well. Don’t put too much weight on the forward projections just yet - really need to see what happens over the next few weeks first.

Fingers crossed WA can do a better job at containing Omicron - but if the hospital system is not ready, then they may need to consider lockdowns if they are serious about preventing what has happened everywhere else. Covid Mk llCovid Mk llCovid Mk llCovid Mk ll🤞

Surely WA l’s hospitals are prepared……..they’ve have had ample time to watch what’s happening in the other states and prepare.

Surely they didn’t think they’d keep Omicron out

At least WA hasn't stupidly opened the flood gates and welcomed the virus into the State as a full scale invasion like some of the other States have

I am surprised that some people think it is easy to prove that COVID19 is better or worse than the flu simply by looking at the number of deaths or the death rate.
The circumstances are so different that such a simple comparison is misleading.
Over the last few years, during the flu season, how many people wore a mask, avoided crowds, washed their hand religiously, practised social distancing, stayed home from work if they were not actually bedridden, and avoided contact with elderly relatives?
Most people have been doing most of those things for the last couple of years.
Since there is clear evidence that most of those preventative measures help reduce the spread of respiratory infections, how many flu cases and deaths do you imagine we would have if we adopted most of those preventative measures? How many COVID cases might there be if we had the same irresponsible approach many people have had towards the flu?
Surely in those situations we would have had many fewer flu cases and deaths and we would have had many more COVID cases and deaths.
