I was going to click the "thanks" button, but I don't think that goes far enough.

The reality is the day to day interaction with various chemo drugs isn't well docmented. Having that extra available "googleable" result is valuable.

When we went to dose our lad with a CBD oil, there were a ****-ton of contraventions, so the question was "I'm planning to do this, I'm not asking for permission but if it's going to impact his treatment then nod your head and we won't do it". What I want to say hits the swear filter a lot. Suffice to say, thanks for being a bit public with it because the whole process isn't nice and ****ing ****ing **** ****.

Brad, I learnt seven years ago what a place this AULRO can be. It truly IS social media. In the seven years since I have learned to really talk about stuff. If people don't like it they can click away, but I think it's absolutely vital. I'm sure some can see it as self indulgent, but if just one person benefits from this thread then it's worth it*. And it helps me. And my openness about it ios appreciated by all the fantastic medical folk I encounter on a daily basis.

    * It's also why I agreed to participate in the trial. Sure, I avoid chemo by doing so, but it's also an important trial to see if others can also forgo chemo. Win Win.

I agree with your sentiments. The swear filter would get a workout from me as well. **** cancer. It took my brother, one of my sisters and my wife. It's not taking me without a fight, even if it's not me doing the fighting.

Oh yeah, apparently I tick all the boxes to get lymphedema, so that's something else to look forward to.

So, 21 sessions done, 4 to go. Yay.
Periodically they do measurement checks. I have to remain in place for these. Today the girl ( can I still say that? I'm going to ) told me she needed me to "breathe normally", which had me concerned. Have I been breathing abnormally for 71 years? And, it's like telling me to not think of a pink rhinoceros. Kinda difficult.
They also warn that this treatment can cause fatigue. They weren't lying about that.

    Don.

A little bit of humour if I may indulge.

I found a lump the size of a Penny (remember those?)

I didn't worry much about it though because under my loose fitting T shirt my "LIVE LIFE" tm pendant alarm had moved across on it's lanyard. Once I would have worried, but no more. It also acts as a fall alarm, cos when one works on your own its a fair bet you will fall arse over head with no one around to help you. The pendant has up to six contact phone # stored & it rings those in order so help can be close by. It will operate on SAT, BTooth. & NBN. I figured it was a good investment after my late wife passed away in June.

It also has 2-way voice comms Pendant volume is adjustable but std vol is fine.

I thought I saw a discussiona bout this scenario on here recently.

You do realise that Fighting raises the Blood Pressure
which I understand is not helpful when "fighting" cancer.

My BP is quite low. Maybe if I fought more I'd stop falling over so much atm.
