Have a Pure Blonde clutched in my paw right this minute; dunno about the low carb tag though, I'm still a fat bar steward
Coming from the land of Tetleys (not tea!) and John Smiths I found some of the more common brews a bit tasteless but saying that I'm hooked on a good CUB Draught straight from the tap and have recently fallen for Coopers Sparkling Ale, if that's the 5.9% one with a red label. Yummy
And what's that Tassie Cider with a silver label, Mercury? A couple of those in a pint pot full of ice does the trick!

Righto, off to the fridge for a refill!

Ron - I know what you mean about red wine. Nasty stuff that is after a few bottles!

Phoenix - you know how they say that the best thing out of Tassie is the ferry. Yeah I agree. It gets rid of them damn Mexicans that keep coming over.

But you're wrong - Cascade is better than boags. Just you northeners haven't worked that out yet!

After a six months work stint in Dandenong some years ago, I realised that there were four things wrong with Melbourne, the weather, the football, the Victorians, and Carlton beer. I currently drink these beers:-
Home Brew, various styles. Usually a Coopers kit.
    Tooheys New
    Fourex heavy
    Carlsberg Elefant (Made in Denmark)
    Schwelmer Pils (German)

As a matter of interest to beer drinkers, the Carlsberg & Tuborg beers made in Melbourne are quite different in colour, taste, and texture, to the real thing.
And I have recently been having a few James Squire Hop Thief Ale and Rum Rebellion Porter. Both are limited production lines and absolutely top shelf.

I will agree with the cider comment. Whenever I'm on the ferry when I get the chance to go down and visit, I spend the night on the cider. It's fairly cheap (which is a bonus) and I really don't remember much of the trips I have done on the boat. Although some stories should never be told in public!

and is there an option for people like me who treat alcohol like fuel for their car..

I'll buy the good stuff for myself but if someone else is shouting I dont mind if its not the top shelf spirits....

OK Who the heck wrote this one up

Coopers Pale Ale, and I wouldn't vote unless it had its own radio button.

Must have been one of your eastern staters that knocked this up.

    There.
