The answer to this initial question is to move as close as possible to where the work is - given 12 hour shifts are not abnormal in those industries. Commuting is a waste of time.

You can run with the current myth - I just have to get a kaftan and some mud bricks - and a Peugeot 504 - and a Kombi... with an eight track stereo

    G'day All

Well I've read your replys (including all the Hijacks) with great interest.

The bit about the Mud Brick House, Peugot, Flairs, Tye Dyed Kaftan, etc etc put a smile on my dial.

I'm a Project Manager, specialising in IT implementations. I'm looking for a change of scenery as I've been with my current employer for about 22 years. I'm a member of the Australian Institute of Project Managers and a Registered Project Manager. I've worked in the electricity industry since about 85 and have varying roles from ditch digger to Manager, Corporate Applications. I'd be interested in either an adult apprenticeship as a Diesel Fitter or doing PM work on Distribution Construction. My wife is a Nurse (EN) so we should be able to get a job. I'm looking round for something that I wan't to do for a change, not stuff I have to do.

I'm also a pretty handy bloke to have round, Jack of all Trades with a fair bit of mechanical and fitting experience on all sorts of things from Trucks to Boats etc.

    Cheers

    G'day Stevo_62

I would suggest that you get your local newsagent to get in a copy of the Saturday "Brisbane Courier Mail" as that is the one with the Jobs listings, as far as I know Energex in SE Qldare always looking for staff in many levels, and Qld Health is desparate for En,Rn< and general medical/hospital staff.

    cheers
