Curses! I just bought a new set of jumper leads. I got home and tried to use them.
One side is open circuit.
Strange, isnt it,also happened to me.Came across a D3 with a flat battery on Moreton island, the kids had been playing with the air compresser that they used to pump up the air bed & flattened the battery.
Got out my almost new set of jumper leads, and couldnt get any joy:(:(
Didnt have a meter, but with the aid of a light bulb out of a torch, worked out one of the leads was open circuit.
Then had to guess where the break in the lead was ,cutting it back, etc & eventually was able to jump start the D3.
Eventually we had happy D3 owners
Crappy Chinese-made stuff.
I took the roof board out of the Rangie to have it recovered. I took it to the trimmer and left the metal trim rings in the openings for the front roof light and the alarm sensor thinking the trimmer would remove them, redo the roof, then refit the rings to finish off the holes.
Nope.
They glued the new fabric over the rings. :o
Gahhh! They're motor trimmers, surely they know to remove the rings first.
The trims are a bitch to remove when the fabric is glued over them.
I must have been a bad person in my previous life. :(
The good thing is that it only cost $110 to have the board and the sunroof panel recovered.
Doesnt this thread make good reading:D:D
We got this thingy so we could charge the laptop in the car.It plugs in the cigarette lighter & makes 240v,lasted 5 minutes.Bought it on internet,so no chance of a refund.
Stopped off at a Dick Smith store up north somewhere,on the way to the cape & picked up another one that worked fine for the whole trip.
Best thing was they had a deal going & got a free cooler as well,it runs on 12v,so we had extra cool space for the trip:),in adition to the Engle.
Ummm the other good thing was this was the only thing on the trip that broke down:p:D:)
I bought an adaptor from the USA that supposedly allows the CD player in the P38A to be replaced by an iPod.
It arrived yesterday.
It is the wrong cable. There's $20 shipping wasted (plus the return costs).
