Kingston will replace it. It looks like it's DOA.
On another issue, we've been having a bathroom/toilet/laundry makeover for the past two weeks. Today was the last day.
The electrician did his stuff this morning. We ran out of double GPOs (of the style we wanted) so I whipped out and bought another for the laundry.
I switched the clothes dryer on this afternoon and noticed the switch felt odd. I looked at it and I can see the switch has a broken lug on the bit you press. The only power point that was bought by me and it's faulty.
Waiting for the portable bathroom disaster story.
Kingston have replaced the memory and the Compaq laptop is up and running. The cheap memory I got from the UK for the old Toshiba has also arrived and it works so I can configure that machine to do permanent duty logging the solar panel output.
Bunnings have replaced the GPO.
Last Saturday morning, I had the frosted glass windows replaced with clear glass in the bathroom (plantation shutters yet to be fitted). The glaziers were here fitting the new shower screen.
After the glaziers had left, I went to lock the bathroom window before we headed off to Canberra. Nope. Couldn't do it.
The reglazed sliding window is no longer square so the locking pin wouldn't go into the hole. Oh, well.
Off to the glazier tomorrow with the window to get them to fix it.
Yes, one would.
I fixed it myself.
They do say; If you want a job done right you have to do it yourself, though Ron.
First thing I would do if fitting a door, window etc it close it, lock it, play around with it for a bit to make sure it all works correctly. Not fit it, leave it open and then leave.
I bought a wireless weather station last week. Among the things it does is record max. and min. temps for the day.
I'm not sure why but it displays the outside minimum temp as +70 deg C but the max is OK. It doesn't do it every day but often enough to suggest it's faulty. I hope I can return it.
Today, we noticed our new 37" HDTV came on by itself. Then went off. Then on. Then off......
Now we can't turn it on but the power indicator goes red (off), blue (on), red....., etc.
Ah well, I guess we call for warranty service on Monday.
We had similar trouble with our TV too one day... until we noticed the cat was sitting on the remote control!
