Go on Dean I dare you to do it today. But do it after driving around in circles on the intersection by the Flinders Railway Station. I can picture the Headlines "The 2020 Melbourne Shootout. Sqizzy Taylor style."

I opened a bottle of 1995 Penfolds Grange today to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary (we didn't drink it back in March when the anniversary occurred). We thought we'd share it with our neighbours from across the road.

It's been in the wine fridge for years at 15 deg C.

The cork broke up when trying to remove it so I had to push the remnants into the bottle then decant and strain the cork out. Annoying but not a deal breaker.

Noting a bottle of 1995 Grange is worth between $500-$600 we expected something good. It wasn't. It was probably on the cusp of being off. I suppose it could have been worse. We could have waited a few more years and not been able to drink it at all!

That's the second bottle of Grange we've had that left us less than impressed - the last was on my 60th birthday some years ago.

That's really crap Ron, but you do know Penfolds have Wine Clinics don't you, although a bit late for your '95.?

One takes one's bottle or cellar to the Winery, they uncork it carefully, decant a smidgin for tasting by the "Experts", topping up the bottle with a similar vintage brew, recork it & place a signed seal or attach a certificate on the neck confirming it has been checked by Penfolds on such & such a date? Costs nought. Well it did.

I had a bottle of similar age to yours & finished up flogging it off at a Wine Auction here. It had been given to me for my 50th Birthday by my eldest Daughter & had bad memories so got shot. A couple of hundred I think I got but it may have been a different vintage &/or grape style to yours, Shiraz I think it was.

I guess they have these clinics in each state but not sure about that,. so the next bottle of Grange you won't buy, why not check with Penfolds. Heard of a bottle of Grange here by a friend of 'er indoors that they discovered while cleaning out their cupboards & supposedly worth 5 grand. I hope the person who brought it to a Dinner Party to be opened on that night hasn't looked at wine prices or they would really have the ****s on.

Personally, I reckon Grange is over rated & certainly wouldn't buy a bottle as an investment when my favourite wine is a Yellow Tail Merlot. 5 grand would buy a lot of Yellow tail @ $8-10 [625 in fact, & probably more as a quantity deal] a bottle & I believe today it is more popular then Gramps Jacobs Creek which until recently was the big seller.

    Cest la vie, Ron.

    Btw. Congratulations on your 50th.

I bought a LIR-2032 lithium battery charger and two Maxell LIR-2032 batteries off evilbay last week. They arrived today. The seller posted them in an Express Post envelope with $2.70 in stamps on it - so I was hit with an extra $10.75 for insufficient postage when I picked them up.

To top it off, although the charger should be able to charge 2 batteries simultaneously, it appears one side of the charger doesn't work. I'm not sure if the batteries are OK, they both appear to be nearly flat. I'll try charging them before confirming/denying that.

I've sent the seller a message telling him I want $10.75 credited to my PayPal account.

Bought a 90degree Air sander that takes the nylock disks from a autobody supply shop. Used it 3 times for aprox 2hrs in total. During the last use of it it slowed and stopped. Tried turning by hand and felt very gritty to turn. This tool was oiled with air tool oil before each use. I was using other air tools prior to this one and had alot more use and with less oil without problems. - Could it be my oil?? My air tank is drained after each use and has an unique but effective water trap system on it.
Took it back and exchanged it for another - supposedly he sells quite a few of them each month and this is the first to come back. Have yet to try it.

    Yes. He refunded the $10.75.

Today I emailed him to tell him I couldn't remove the batteries from the charger - well, not until I pulled it apart and pushed the batteries out from behind. The batteries had swollen that much they were really stuck.
