 Hammerbarn also. Then there's the "big box full of stuff" that when you get home, open and start installing you find is missing a vital piece because someone swiped it. Again, apparently common.
Heck I bought one of those "Champion" blister packs of nuts & bolts from AutoPro and the bloke cracked it open and counted every bolt, nut and washer out in front of me before putting it back together again. I asked "Really?" and he simply shook his head and said "you have no idea".
I'd hate to be in retail these days.
On the other hand, years ago I bought a pile of threaded plumbing fittings from Bunnings. For convenience I screwed the whole lot together and when I was checking out I was distracted by a (mine) rowdy 3 year old. I got to the car and checked the receipt and she'd only scanned the first bar code leaving me with about $30 in "freebies".
