Friend has Just recently spend $$$$$ Fixing his Blown 3.0 LTD Patrol , ended up being a Crack Piston, is this is Common Problem with the Patrool.
I've been Told it's caused by Over Fueling in Engines 2001 -2004 ZD30 motor.
Oh well, I hope for the Tojo buyers sake the TDV8 doesn't turn out to be like the Patrols 3.0TD. I do like the Toy commercials etc, but there is nothing worse than a breakdown, especially a terminal one.

Its problem is apparently lubrication related.

Bah. Lets not forget English horses are much bigger than Japanese ones. Toyotas never go as well as the figures would suggest.![]()
Have any of you guys followed one of the new V8 cruisers down the road? The front track (axle width) is 4" wider than the rear (95mm). From behind the front wheels are out wider than the rear, it looks like it's crabbing down the road. Who in their right mind would increase the front track and not the rear?Looks to have been developed very much on the cheap, but toyota sheep, sorry, buyers, will still buy the thing in their thousands because of the badge on the grill.

Also according to our engineer at work the tare weight is up but not the gross - so you can carry even less.

Citroen D series produced from 1955 to 1975 had the front track about four inches wider than the back - but it was designed that way from scratch - the whole body tapered from the front doors back. Probably still has the lowest drag coefficient of any mass produced four door car. But the tapering sides makes backing, particularly in narrow drives, very interesting!
