I'm with WQBE (since 99) and very very happy (2x cars house & contents) $33 a mth full comp rating 1 for my 96 Disco TDI, free windscreen a year or other glass ect.
Thing to ask is do they recover from point of accident, I asked this as I was in Bris at the time and spent alot of time up at Fraser Is past Orchid Beach.
If I have an acc at the cape ie roll over and she's on the roof where do you pick up from they said "from point of accident" others I rang NRMA ect they will pick up from hard standing only ie the black stuff.
So example, roll over from the cape pick up deliver to the barge pickup from the other side deliver to Rainbow, out of my pocket, hate to think of the cost in that.
This is all "horse's for course's" thou WQBE's been good to me, could be different for others.

Thanks for the info Andrew, but Elders (very politley) declined, unless I moved my house and contents insurance to them, they will not insure a motor vehicle alone, you have to have some other form of insurance with them.

Going with DGA, to answer ROVERNIT's question, yes CGU do underwrite them, but as DGA are a broker, they are able to get policies and conditions with CGU that I, as a direct customer to CGU cannot. Don't ask me why...

When my pootrol was stolen and stripped they found the car dumped at Appin and NRMA recovered it I have no idea how they got in there but they did, they got a tow truck to recover it but failed, the driver was ****ed that his truck got srcatched he attempted to scall drag it with his winch but failed as the cars steering wheel was missing so they needed a tractor to recover it at the cost of NRMA $160 hr

I was with TCIS, biggest pack of ********s that walked the earth . declined my claim when I rolled Aquarangie and I was mislead in my policy in regards to my 'infringements', be careful all of you when you re-insure because I cetrtainly learnt the hard way .

I hate insurance companies with a passion and won't give them 2 cents if I had my way, only have ext 3rd party through RACQ and that was bloody expensive due to my history for my old dunga.

Overall, this is what I think of them-

The company uses underwriters like Vero.. Good luck if you need to claim.
They also use requirements like "must be a 4wd club member" which is not in the TP act...

Our 4wd club was ripped off a substantial amount to insure an event (we supposedly needed more than the clubs usual insurance) only to receive a letter stating we would have been covered under the existing policy AFTER the event had been run...

DGA will do agreed value, and for me do it on both the 4wd's AND at a cheaper premium. I also have glass annually and a few other bits and pieces that TCIS wanted an arm, leg and my left one to cover.

And thats not even going into the manager/owner and his personal attitude/behaviour
    Mike,

I use DGA but they are not an insurer, just an underwriter!

I know this coz I have just made a claim - and the insurer is...........

    CGU!

The first thing they did was cut back the quotes and ask the repairer to trim back their costs - I can see some major arguments ensuing in the next few weeks coz I am not real happy with either the insurer or the repairer.

    Cheers,
