    Hi Ace,
    Long time no chat.
If only it were that simple, politics in oz isn't so clearcut. The ALP will govern for at least 6 because it takes 1-2 or even three yrs to introduce and bed policy in, eg the senate will slow things till July! Our kids laptops will not arrive for 1-2 years. (you're a teacher I believe, can u find out when we are gunna get 'em?)

It took some very polarising issues to give the majority Rudd has. Those kind of issues don't generally happen that often, not in three years anyways I don't see that many people swinging and voting Lib in three years! Usually, an opposition tries to claw back some seats at the three year mark (and usually do as swingers and flirters come back) and then try to sneak in at 6 years.
So, we have them for at least 6 IMHO (for what its worth) and I believe that the next election will also contain a referendum for fixed 4yr terms so maybe 7-8.

A positive for me though is that I see the Libs rebuilding at state level, so maybe some state govts will change and state based reform can occur in health, education and transport, and maybe contribute to the rebuilding of the Libs federally.

As for who will lead, I personally think PCost won't. My bet is Abbot or someone obscure. (Just a hunch). Resignations have yet to occur as some will not want to be in opposition.

Have a good Chrissy if we don't chat again.

    Ralph

I get that feeling with almost any politician. Milton Orkopolous and Bob Collins may be just the tip of the iceberg.

I certainly hope not - I'm betting Turnbul as well.

Pitty about Brugh, he could have been good.

    Cheers
    Dave.

Did anyone see channel seven's coverage last night? I could see it but not hear it in a bistro I was having dinner at.

They had an assembled group of journalists and former politicians, among them was former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett. He is part of the Movember campain and was sporting a small mo, but with his slicked black hair he looked like a certain Austrian that the Germans once elected dictator!

I think I should drag this thread back in 12 months and see how overjoyed the "Labor faithfull" are then

You know, some times you can never please people, so it could be very interesting to see how "loved" little Kevy is then

He's either turned Monarchist or thought it may lose a few votes. Cynical? Moi?
