I agree. Mal Brough seemed the real deal. He really believed in the 'Intervention' and appeared to be working well with the people within the communities in the Territory, by-passing the Land councils and talking to the poor buggers copping the fallout from the booze, petrol and drugs.
Shame Costello's pulled the pin, the Abbott and Costello comedy duo would have been good for a laugh.
Funny comment in yesterdays SMH was that if Labor won, The Mad Monk (Tony Abbott) would become Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs so they could get him out of the country more often.
Apparently Alex "Whinnie the Pooh" Downer still harbours leadership ambitions, and if anyone ever saw the 'Australian Story' story on him some months back, he really hates Rudd and seems to want to have a good crack at him. I'm unsure where the antipathy comes from, but he couldn't hide it at all.
So, the leadership stoush could include Turnbull (who has already thrown his hat into the ring) Abbott and Downer.
Anyone think of any one else that would have a bash at probably 6 years in opposition ?
