My sentiments exactly. I have recently (days ago) settled a property sale deliberately to free up cash for the 'cheap housing boom' that is just around the corner. I will take great delight in asking the mortgagee which way they voted. Heck, I might try to drive an even harder bargain!.
As mentioned in another post, I will fix the mortgage rate too!

BTW, spot on Twitchy you B**

I am happy & proud to say I am howard/liberal supporter - but if the majority want LABOR I am happy to give it a go. I just hope the labor party have learnt from there past mistakes and keep this country "Australia" safe and prosperous for the future generation.

But I need to say - AWA's are here to stay in the Mining Industry.

    All the best

    Wayne

    Well Done.
I agree. I am also conservative leaning but accept the result so Twitchy et al, You Da Man. I will learnt to like it!

I don't think AWA should remain, all mining industry folk should be put back onto EBA and if that means a pay cut, so be it, the people have spoken!

Back to landy chat......(fade to grey......)

Congratulations to krudd on his victory but methinks it is 3 years to early, with the problems in China with hyperinflation and America teetering on recession, soaring oil prices plus the debts that krudd must repay to the unions , the greens and other backers then our economy must suffer. Workchoices although not perfect it did deliver reasonably full employment. The other point is I always thought that hospitals were a state responsibility ?? We do however have a great democracy and are still the greatest country.

Yay, Labor won. Now we can watch unemployment rise, small companies go belly up and all those lovely people out there who are working there butt off to pay off their house having it taken back by the bank because the interest rates sky rocket. And it will be even better when that ice queen deputy prime minister shafts Rudd and takes over control of the country, Oh joy I am getting tingles as I think about it all.

No AULROian will be living in poverty by 2010.

Its a joy to be a small business owner now

I wonder when they are going to announce the next recesion we have to have

The thing that still has me stumped is the size of the Green vote, especially in inner Melbourne.

The result would have been a lot closer if the greenies didn't preference to the ALP. Had to laugh when I heard that idiot Bob Brown say that he expected the ALP to reverse it's support of the Gunns pulp mill now.

My seat is still in doubt (as far as I know). I hope the incumbent stays as he has been a good local member. It seems a pity when you get good local members given the boot due to reaction to the overall favour of the party.

Things are not as bad as I previously though.
Rudd will not have control in the Senate until July 2008.

If he doesn't have the numbers, it will be very difficult for him to get stupid idea's through and ruin the economy.
I now, don't think much will change in the short term.

If the dollar does drop at an alarming rate due to Rudd and his mouth, we may see a return to the Whitlam era
    Nothing like blocking supply!
