Ah well, time will tell what happens.
Should be interesting though...

Start to worry if they move production from its current location.
Well, it seems that all Ford achived in Australia was to remove long standing Dealer Franchises, and remove any resemblance of service
cheers
Just some perspective:
Tata wouldn't have bought LR to trash the brand. It's probably far more important to them as a brand and the cred that comes with it, then it ever was to Ford.
India is the next "China" in boom terms. They're well educated, operate under our Westminster legal system and have heaps of cheap labour and mineral resources.
The company I work for (an American high tech multinational) moved manufacturing from Europe and the States to China 5 years ago and the product coming out of there now is fantastic. We are now building factories in India to do the same.
I'm concerned like a lot of you, but to be honest it's probably more about tradition than anything else.
To be honest I wouldn't be concerned if they moved the entire plant out of Solihull and into India.
British (car industry) workers tend to be their own worst enemy![]()
That last point is a centre bull.BMW learnt that very quick. This sale will keep the Defender alive, just not sure about engines, tranny's etc.LR don't need Tata running gear. Pat
From what I've read elsewhere, part of Ford's plan with sale was to still supply any potential new owner with engines etc.
