Very patriotic the Canadians and that is an amazing display of it.

Hak, i don't think that the message at the end is a racist statement, just a statement about having respect for a solder.

A solder should not be made to feel bad about wearing his or her uniform, and making a solder remove his uniform because it may offend is just disrespectful towards that solder whether they be Christian or Muslim.

    Cheers Baz.

    Absolutely, Baz.

If I was a soldier, I wouldn't remove my uniform to avoid offending anyone. (BTW, is that Bairmingham in the UK or in Alabama, USA?)

I'd like to see the same parade and show of respect for our fallen soldiers. Our state govts. wouldn't allow it.

Birmingham Hospital is in UK there was an incident reported in UK papers about soldiers being treated for injuries tor emove military uniform so as to to offend muslim staff etc as UK has closed down its specialist military hospitals as part of MOD defence cutting cost exercise.

As for treating fallen soldiers with respect l think the funerals for recent deceased Australian soldiers on tour overseas where PM and leader Opposittion fronted were signs of adequate National respect.

The Queensland government closed off part of the CBD for three hours. Members of the public lined the street to show their respects.

A military funeral is a time to show respect for, and to thank a member of our armed forces who died doing his duty for our country. It is not a time for flag waving jingoism, or an opportunity to show how patriotic one is.

I may have misunderstood this. Is that your view of the Canadian effort?

no do I understand Baz, but what you have to ask has a Muslim requested that a soldier remove his uniform ever. I doubt it same thing with our Xmas I’m not a devoted Muslim by any standards and I hate religion period but that’s how hate and racism starts I don’t mean by what hodgo posted I’m sure his not racist and I know he means respect for our soldiers I agree, but believe that’s how it all starts when a majority makes exceptions on there own to a minority then majority hate the minority for there choices if that makes since
