Works well when the rear window is covered in mud.

What were the designers thinking?

Surely drivers today are capable of turning a rear wiper on and off when needed.

it had my missus in today, she had to call me as she couldn't turn the rear wiper off...

put it in drive dear...

A particular bolt on a short wheel base series one.

It's the bolt in the front of the right hand rear spring shackle and it's been installed in the factory from the outside.

By the time the bolt has to come out to do spring work, the petrol tank is also showing it's age and this tank needs to be dropped down out of the way to allow the bolt to be pulled out enough to release the spring.

Undoing the bolts of the rather old and fragile petrol tank does disturb the rust between the bottom two plates in the bottom of the tank, that in turn causes the tank to leak.

Cutting the head off a rather scarce BSF threaded bolt with a angle grinder is the only other option and that's not good idea along side a dodgy fuel tank.

I removed my rear wiper.

But the motor kept on going.

I disconnected the wires.

I'm not much interested in whats behind me when I'm driving , and can't do much about it either.

the fuel cap on the defender...


by far the most expensive part of the car....every time I touch it , im up for at least $50!!
