On the 110, the inlet filter on the injection pump - inside the engine mount bracket, impossible to see and (almost) impossible to get at; and supposed to be checked every service.

On the 2a - Joseph Lucas.

    BUMP. Deserves it.

The way my Disco dumps about a litre of water on my right leg if I get in/out when it's raining.

    TD5 exhaust manifold studs.

D2 SLS. I stil miss it, but I don't miss coming back to the car, usually in a very public place, to find it sitting on the bump stops.

Having to unlock the door with the key to get the remote unlocking to work. D2.

The floor screws in a SII A, and the fact that you have to take them out to change the clutch.

The way that some days the windows go up and down, and on others they don't. Both Discos.

Still, I find it interesting that there were many comments about how difficult LRs are to work on.
Sure, Series Landy's have their moments ( steering relay comes to mind ), but try changing a clutch on a FIAT 124 Sport.
Or simply the clutch cable. The last 'easy' car I worked on was a Datsun 1200.

Knowlege of a 'marque' helps. I remember seeing a bloke trying to change the sparkplugs on a Jensen Interceptor.
He'd been at it for about two hours, under the bonnet. It's impossible. I told him to put the thing up on the hoist.
Takes 10 minutes that way. Just a Chrysler V8 after all. From the top you'ld think it was a Ferrari.

I was gobsmacked when I learnt that the way to do the timing belt on a RR Sport
was to take the body off. Once I got over the shock it all made sense. Tell that to
    a Toyota mech !

    The D2 window switches.

After how many years I still fumble around with my left hand and still close the front when I want to open the back.

The rear door lock comes a close 2nd.

I think that is one of the best idea's as you dont need to be double jointed to open a window.

i spent most of day trying to track down an intermittent fault with the brake lights and once again this pox ridden little switch was the crux of the problem.

nigh on impossible to get out in one piece after a few years just to add that extra bit of joy .... so i get to spend another hour or two trying to get the broken bit out before i can experience the joy of fitting a new one..

Dave, visit Narvas website and look what generic brake switches are available.Surely you can set up something easier to deal with and more reliable.Last time I looked at the cattledog at work they had several types

I never before read a post from Dave with so much anger

Just wonder how many cups of coffee he consumed before and during the job
