    Its clear to me.

It means that now when people who think that they're smart ask a question, then those that actually know or have the answers should belittle the questioner for not going out and improving themselves by finding out their answer before asking the question.

It sounds fair enough to me.
    Cheers

There seems to be a bit of a trend over about 3 of my posts where you have responded. You have responded in a very personal manor as if my posts were directed to or at you personally. Normally I would apologise for this misunderstanding but reading back though some of your posts I get the feeling that you may like to place your self in this position, as this is your choice so I will leave it at that.

NB nazi should be spelt with a BIG N[/quote]

Sorry, but why should the poor spellers and indifferent grammarians get an even break?

Really any other area, tech, 4x4ing, chainsaw handling, need I say more...

The experts are all over the less expert telling them exactly where they can put their spade.

And mostly we wear it on the chin.

    HTFU.

But then most well read people would know this!
I have read Gorky Park and I know of Gorky. So what does Gorky have to do with you as a kid?

Actually, no, it isn't in my OED. I know "preachment" means giving a sermon but what the heck it has to with your travel and work, I don't know unless you are a preacher.

It's not your spelling about which I've commented. You seem to use words which are patently wrong. For example, on another thread, you used mastectomy instead of mammogram - a huge difference in that particular thread.

Are "Gorky" and "preachment" examples of this?

Only if referring to the Nazis where it is a proper name.
