    Hair-dryer/heat-gun will not harm the paint, eucalyptus oil will dissolve the glue.

    Following all this advice (apart from the belt sander/grinder advice ) I have successfully got them off with a heat gun (hair dryer seemed a bit girly) and some white spirits.

    Too hot, and they strung like cheese. Too cold and they would tear. But get it just right - and they come off quite easily.

    Looks 100% better, I reckon.

    Same here, just a bit of patience and some fingenail picking. (Left the little one on the back door for resale purposes) Cleaned it up with a mild car polish.

    I was thinking 80's, but maybe bogan

    Ford and Nissan seemed to specialise in these rather tasteless (to me) decals.
