I heard about a horrific transaction. A mate of mine (real nice and trusting guy) anyway he sold a car, car goes counts cash all parties concerned are apparently happy. Then out of the blue, months later, he started getting speeding fines sent to him. Apparently the purchaser was driving around in the unregoed car that my mate no longer possessed. Huge fines and tolls went straight to my mate.

Now that one sucked. Costing him heaps in court costs and alike just to clear his name, wife is giving him hell over it etc....
That is why he should have notified the RTA of the disposal. He could have even done it online. myRecords. Much simpler if you use the system that is there to protect you in the first place than having to deal with the legalities afterwards.

I know people, wont call them friends, that buy a cheap car with months of rego never change the owner details just so that they can park anywhere, anytime and do exactly what has happened to your mate.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Beeing tired and with international guests visiting I managed to give all the papers the dodgy buyer. Mutual cotact of the buyer has been totaly useless in this isue.

Won a brand new intercooler today for $31
10 minutes after the auction ended i got a message from the seller saying it was stolen last night, how bloody convenient
That would have to be the worst case of lying ever
Asked him for a copy of the police report and haven't heard back (just wanted to see if i got a reaction)
    .
reported him to ebay and left negative feedback aswell.

You'll more than likely get your money back via Paypal - I've had good results in the couple of disputes I've been forced to lodge. It sounds like this particular seller wont be around too much longer..............
