This now explains something to me.

A couple of years ago paypal contacted me and just told me I now have to pay by bank transfer not credit card. I thought this was great as it was easier.

I had to set up a transfer account with paypal. They did say if account had insufficient funds the money would then come from credit card.

If it is so hard to pay by credit card just make sure you have an account with insufficient funds(not hard to have one of these) and it will then go to credit card, providing there are no outrages fees involved.

It's not hard to pay via PayPal using a credit card. I do it all the time.
I assume eBay/PayPal don't like it because they're lumped with the CC charge.
Notice the default setting for PayPal is via your bank account - one click though & it changes to CC .
