Thats the trouble, the people who buy a vehicle don't sit in the back.Give me a boxy shape anyday if it means I haven't got my knees at my chin and someone else's elbo's in my ribs. The Discovery deserves every award it has. Pat

the Disco is a box, that off roads well straight out of the box and comes from a country that has as much space as a box.

    its in its heritage

I don't doubt it. My point is some people have a certain perspective, & it doesn't matter what you say, what they read, etc, they won't change it come hell or high water.

It was the point of making the comment in the first place.....why? What value did it hold? Someone puts up a positive report on the D4...so what...we malign it instead? Thats what we do?

I think the "opinion" component has been covered. What I want to know is if someone posts up a positive report on an LR...any LR....then that it is ok to knock it one form or another...opinion or not. When negative reports are posted....folks are up in arms...when someone on our own forum does it....must be ok. If the general consensus is that it is ok...guess I will happily stay in the minority.

As for respecting everyones choice and opinions...personally I do not. Think about some peoples opinions and choices...can one really respect them?? Oh and no not Chinese.........have been in Australia all my life....bombastic....will give that one to SWMBO..she's always looking for new things to call me....and yes have already owned a D3...thought the pics were a dead giveaway...best damn vehicle I have ever owned.

    Regards

    Stevo
Your post graphically displays your depth of arrogance, Stevo.
You may not respect other's or my opinions, nor care less for them; obviously you are concerned that I hold massive sway amongst intelligent folk though. I can visualize the headlines of financial broadsheets across the globe.....

How many prospective customers do you think my humble opinion will turn away. My opinion is not a negative comment, it is a purely, 100% subjective observation. Some may not subscribe to my appreciation, that's fine too. The smart thinkers will merely say, "I don't accede to your view, I'm going to buy one." instead of running off at the mouth.
Take a good look at yourself Stevo, you have executed a brilliant swallow dive from a high bridge, only to discover a train line below instead of a river.
    Best wishes,
    Ian.

Never would imply that sales people would be less than truthful about the new pricing on an upcoming model but have a look at the current situation.
They want to sell vehicles NOW.... best to make a customer think the D4 is dearer, will have different specs etc
The $AUD is going Ok against the pound so no surprises there
The Landcruiser is the only real competition for the D4, TATA want to incresase market share, making the D4 $10K dearer would push customers to the Cruiser.
I reckon they'll fiddle with the spec to get a small increase in price with maybe a few less accessories/trim combinations to keep the price competitive if necessary.

Some more pics of the D4.
I must say that it's growing on me the more I think about it.
