What do I love about my job?

For starters I haven't been in IT for 7 years

I don't have to sit and stare at a computer all day, every day. I get to walk round a dirty big refinery most days.

I get to learn new skills.

This week I get to play with red mud

Im a heavy duty deisel mechanic, I have recently started my own business after working in the mining industry for the best part of 12 years.
I love taking something that isn't doing what it should and working out what it is and fixing it.

I also love that my job has given my the skills and knowledge to indulge in my hobbies. I also like the fact that now that im self employed i can include land rovers in my work schedule

what do i love about my work?

    umm...

cheap parts, the boss is relatively normal (for a boss) and i sometimes meet interesting people

the downside? ****head customers, one mechanic who i REALLY wish would **** off and let everyone else have a peacefull life, and a lil bit of loyalty keeping me in the job instead of taking up a reps job for twice the money......

    I really enjoy my job.
I was given a chance to prove myself after a farm accident left me with a serious back injury.
I was told I wouldnt be suitable to do physical in the future.
In my 6 years at the Shire I went from being employed as a casual Traffic Controler(Lollypop swinger) to now being the leading hand/Construction Grader operater.
The pay is good,I basically run the job,and have the respect of MOST of my workmates.
I feel I owe the Shire for my turn around, but will admit I pushed hard to learn any bit of machinery whilst others prefered to do the same thing day in day out.In the end I benifited.
The only reason at the moment,I would move on is if the Lotto god strikes, then I would buy a few sandpit toys of my own and make $$$ multiply

Most years I manage about twelve weeks of leave, which gives me plenty of time for this...

Not to mention a couple of these every day that I am in the office...

Hey Andrew, its illegal for me to have them onboard, doesn't matter whethr they come out of the net alive or dead..Very rarely are they dead, but if they are they go into a big pot inside, and get eaten very quickly.

I hear what you say Ian.
Spent a day on a mates cray boat for a ride.
Any half dead caccas were quickly boiled and eaten. No point wasting them, any healthy ones were first overboard.
