    Fuel economy with GG AT 19 inch

    I've only been through 1.5 tanks of fuel since they were fitted. City driving only so far averaging 12.0 L / 100km. Interstate trip this week so l can answer highway average on returning.

    Mine have been on since early june. Just filled this morning and got 10.67l/100km. Driving has been mixed cycle including couple of trips to city on freeways, stop-start inner city and local home to work (short but hilly with stop/starts). I reckon that the Wranglers were the same. Front and rears running 40psi (was what the tire fitter put in them). Probably drop the fronts to 36psi as per vehicle recommendation but retain 40 (or 42) in rears as we are off on three months LSL this Saturday towing 1700kg of loaded camper. Say hi if you see a White SE D4 with GG's towing a Jayco Swan Outback. (on that, i notice that D4 owners more often than not check out each others cars...complimenting each other on the fine choice no doubt).

    Had mine fitted today and although I have only done a few k's so far am very impressed - certainly with the road manners. Very quiet for the tread depth and pattern and feel really good to drive on. I like the extra rubber thickness up the sides to, and flatter surface tread so hopefully they perform adequately in the bush and are a good allrounder. The e-diff should take care of the rest.

    i noticed that my Wrangler HP's have gotten very noisy over the last few weeks only done 35,000kms!! is this normal or is jealousy set in??

    I've had the GG AT2's (18's) on for about 38,000Km's now for the last 12 mths. So far so good and I agree with SIITD5 and I reckon I've got about the same or at least another years or 30K worth out of these to go. Mostly road use, but have been great in the mud, snow and steep rocky terrain. Noise is/has a slight hum, but not too bad. Wearing evenly too and only one puncture. Still way more than 1/2 tread left. Fine on wet slippery roads too, so will see how they go once down more on tread.

    Normal they wear very fast and get noisy in later life.

    I replaced mine at 30,000 as I found out the hard way, that as stated earlier they had worn pretty fast and had become very prone to punctures....three in one week!

    I have just averaged 9.0 L/100km on a 1000 km highway trip in a 3.0 L D4. As previously mentioned 12.0 L/100km city only driving.

    If l get organised l'll take some offroad pics on the farm tomorrow. I did a little bit of off road stuff today and so far l'm still ...... .

    Same for me GG AT2 18's at about 35k now, still tons of tread left, they look good and handle extremely well in wet and dry, they have done mud, sand, rock and lots of gravel roads as well as lots of highway and I haven't had any problems or punctures. If the new GG AT's are better as they are reported to be then they would be a very good choice and will be what I replace mine with when needed which hopefully is still another 20k away.
