Not a good day today! I picked up what appears to have been a 1/4" bolt in the RLHS tyre of my D4SE last night driving home and by the time I noticed and stopped ( on the freeway) the tyre was hot. Investigation this morning found a cupful of shredded rubber inside the tyre. She is cactus!
I have only done 10,000km, so am not overly happy. I have done this in two months, so I expect to need a new set of boots by the end of the year, so my thoughts are to buy 4 new 19" Grabbers, fit one as a spare now, and fit the last three in December before the old set are so worn that they are of no use as emergency un-mounted spares.
It seems to me that it may be a good idea to carry at least one spare un-mounted tyre on any interstate trip, givent the scarcity of spares in remote locations.
Does anyone know of a supplier of 19" Grabbers in WA?
Alternatively, does anyone have a single used Goodyear Wrangler 255 55 19 that they will to part with?
I have no spare tyre until I fix the problem.
Cheers
Al
