    D3 TDV6 Engine System Failure

Coming home this arvo along the Bruce Highway and D3 goes into limp
home mode, no warning traveling along at 100khr when it happened.
Anyone know what it could be did hit a big pothole Just South of Gympie
but this didn't happen to Northlakes over 100ks later.
Did make it home in low range, will take to the dealer tomorrow.
Good way to finish our holidays.

turns out that water some how got down the snoorkle and got the air flow meter
wet and the air filter was also wet. the rain was heavy but I didn't think it would
suck in water with the head of the snoorkle facing towards the back as I hadn't turned it around since going through the locust plague in Vic.
They also said that there were a lot of locust in the bottom of the air cleaner box,
I had cleaned it out after going through them they must have been in the snoorkle
    tube.

Interesting. I checked mine (air filter) and it was as new. Lots of locusts on the trip too - but none in the airbox. I await my cars diagnosis with interest.

    Hi Bigmac,
Is yours the Safari snorkel or the LR RAI?

    TIA,
    Peter

    Hi Ken,
That's what I thought, but I just wanted to be sure.

my car is back on the road too - seems a battery terminal was loose leading to a voltage drop and they also "identified a software glitch" (?!)
    cheers!

    Hi BigMac,
Considering where you live getting water in the snorkle would be a given right now. Hope everything is OK where you are. I've just come back from a trip I encountered quite a few locusts in SA, thanks for the heads up I'll have a look at the weekend.
