Not exactly the same, but twice in the last couple of weeks, we've had a loss of power accompanied by the DSC warning light, and messages "HDC system fault", "Limited gears available Transmission fault", and "suspension lowered". Switch off and start again seems to cure the problem. I've checked the battery terminals etc. Both times it happened just driving along around 80km/h. Does anybody have any ideas? It's a late 2007 TDV6 D3 SE. Cheers

    You could try checking:

    rear lighting globes
    brake switch
running voltage (should be 13.9 to 14.6 for a 2010, can't recall exactly for the 2007).

Maybe consider investing in a Faultmate FCR or Hawkeye diagnostic tool. For around $500, it should be the first tool you buy for a D3.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Coming back from Portland this morning after filling up at the Mobil servo in Warrnambool. Have a late 2008 TDV6 SE. After cruising along the freeway for 150km the car warning lights came on, exactly the same experience as above. After switching off and starting the engine again, I drove for 10 metres and the warning reappeared. After leaving the car off for 10mins and scrambling through the vehicle manual without much luck, aside from contacting the dealer. I started the car again and drove the rest of the way home without warning lights reappearing. Any suggestions?

Will take it into the dealer early next week.

I would think that more stuff would be drawn into the snorkel when it is facing backwards. Seems silly i know but its the same principal as a convertible car and when driving along a womans hair is blown forwards.

Air flowing over the snorkel creates lower pressure behind the snorkel which can make things go forwards. So if it was raining heavily that might be how the water got in.

yes I must agree with you ACE I have spoke to a few people about this
and they say it is best to leave it facing the front.
next time I go through locust i will put some mesh over it.
It was my fault I was going to turn it back around when we got back from
Vic. but forgot all about it.

What ya doing in Portland Whyte D3 If you are like me the only time I go there
is to vist family, the best thing about the place is the roads out of it.

Stick your head above the windscreen or out the window and compare the results - you'll soon change your mind.
