I had a quick look at this last weekend, and the only thing I could find on Faultmate that MIGHT work, is changing the setting that says wether or not power fold mirros are fitted. I didn't try the setting as I don't need it turned off, but it may work?

For those without a faultmate, changing settings and writing them back to the car, seeing if it does what you expected and then trying yet another setting, testing that etc takes a bit of time. So hence I don't really experiment too much, and there is no instruction book when it comes to faultmate and the software.

I haven't spotted the power-fold mirrors fitted/not fitted entry. In which section is it?

The D3 has a relay to operate the power-fold motors. I assume the D4 also has one, which therefore could be removed as temporary fix although that then prevents manually folding them too.

I'll try changing the security region with faultmate when I get a chance. However I'd like to find for what countries (if any) that the mirrors don't fold on locking because there a several security region options. The security region parameter is the only locking/security parameter that doesn't seem to be self-explanatory in what it does.

From everything I've read so far on 3 worldwide forums, it seems LandRover forgot or didn't bother to include a programming option to stop just the locking fold & stillleave them foldable manually. It doesn't seem like anyone worldwide has been able to do what I'm after with software, and as I'd like the ability to fold them when neccessary(narrow roads/streets & city carparks), the I think the switch is a good option actually.

As for Global closing of all windows, it seems definitely US, AUS, & Canadian cars do NOT do it, but most apart from perhaps a few UK cars DO global close.
The rest of Europe cars seem to work ok too. Quite a few owners need to reset the one touch closing for the rear windows(kids anyone?), but it seems all of those guys have global close.
Global close clearly doesn't shut sunroofs for those with them though.

Thanks to Graeme & Kenl for even trying/looking for me/us.

    Regards,

    Les.

I've come to the same conclusion - better to have the switch than no control.

In the faultmate it's listed in EUCD file, in the 'eucd info' section.

Rear view mirrors - Outer ' retractable mirrors with integrated logic' is the default setting the other options are 'fitted' 'not fitted' and 'undefined'

    regards ken

Thanks Ken. I was sure I'd seen it before but missed it with my quick look at the EUCD file last night, being blinded by most EUCD file entries showing not fitted or similar notation. Maybe the option is specifically for the logic control rather than mirrors fitted or not fitted overall and that the switch control might still work, as indicated by stig0000.

Changing the external mirrors setting to 'fitted' stops mine from folding when locking but also prevents folding by using the buttons. I've set mine back to the original setting whilst I consider alternatives.

Can anyone provide advice on how to remove the tweeter housings? I now have switches to fit.

I haven't yet decided whether to mount the switches facing inwards so that they're basically invisible (but can still be operated) with the door closed or facing rearwards and trying to make them look part of the existing switches. As they will only need to be operated when fitting and removing towing mirrors, my inclination is to have them hidden from normal view which will be of benefit if their fitting isn't quite up to par, but will have to check what's behind the spots anyway.
