This new link from jonesy63 Rob is the same unit as the Russian source, but will have no included interface/converter for the oem base b/w lcd signal. Even the Russian site added that as a optional extra.

As far as the Nav software, if it runs on Win CE 6.0, it will run on this unit. I like iGo8 which is the easiest to get & run for the city, can't help or advise on anything else like Ozi Explorer until I try it ...

Robocop Rob - I'm also willing to tip in for your trial efforts which will pay off for, or save, all of us.

    Regards,

    Les.

Looks an interesting prospect - much cheaper than other options.

I have sent them a request - kicking tyres for arranging a group buy.

Let's see what they come back with! :

Very keen on this so count me in for group buy. I think Disco4se would be keen as well. Let us know how you go. Thanks for posting.

Cool Rob! We need to make sure your trial of this unit is tied to the group buy.

Les - I agree, I use iGo for onroad and I reckon it's fantastic.

I've installed OziExplorer on a YF 6" standalone (Chinese) GPS running WinCE 6 and it works fine - but the extra 1" screen size will help.

Note that it is Chinese New Year at the moment, so I wouldn't expect a reply until next week.

    Happy Australia Day everyone!

If its the same as the Rusian one then it works on top of the factory stereo so shouldn't affect the vehicle time (even if it is a replacement for the factory one I'm sure you could add it as an extra instead and just use the amp out into the aux in to solve canbus issues then just move the old screen or buy a converter off eBay)

Hope everyone had a good Aussieday. My head is hurting this morning!!

    Hi Folks,
I just received the following reply from the vendor:
    ___________
    Dear Robert,

    Thank you for the Email!

We are sorry to inform you that this model is out of stock and we are
not sure when the manufacter will send us the new units.

    Best Regards,
    ___________

So - I suggest we all need to hammer their web site with interest in the product. This way, they might get the message that there is a real interest in the unit and might get off their behinds and order them. Worth a try any way.

    Any other suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Rob

That's no good.. Well in the mean time I've been looking at the signal converter for the factory screen converter. Still at around $300 it's a gamble for this but if it works it solves a lot of issues. But before I look at that I have to fine a set of 5 of those Goodyear MTR's in the 19". Can't find them anywhere (hint).
