Dual Battery and Air Compressor in D4

    Hi All,

I want to mount an air compressor in My D4 which has the Traxide Dual Battery Set up. This would have been a good spot for this but that room has been taken there.
Any suggestions? I was thinking in the rear where the tow bar hitch is stored - anybody done this. Access at the rear seems a better idea and then the bonnet does not have to be raised either.
    Thanks in advance

You can put it in the Drivers side, it's the spot that was used in the D3 for it's second battery.

Thanks Redback, do you think the rear area would be a better option?

I have mine on the back of my rear drawers

Outlet here, power is drawn from the rear accessory socket.

I to have looked at seveal places to mount the air compressor being engne bay, rear foot ells, under second row seats although this will prevent lowering the seats for load carrying . Whilst fitting my dual battery I ran a dedicated power line and plug to the rear that sits below the third row of seats , I can then easily grab this through the gap in the seats at the rear. I find this convenient enough not to bother with hard mounting the compressor. I also carry the standard battery clamps so I can also lend the compressor to others if needed.

You could probably fit a slimline deep cycle battery with that compressor.

You Know the best compressor to fit ? The old one that came out of your car when they decided the suspension Fault was caused by the compressor !Ive got 5 of them here , ranging from a 2005 to 2010 fitted date , not one of them actually had a faulty Compressor ! All of them had jammed up Driers ! How about that .(Even Redbacks looks like a Compressor out of a RRC air bag job!!
The compressor out of D3/D4/RRS is a Hitachi ,made in Japan ,and from our speed test ,filled my 33x12.5x15's to 30PSI in 20n seconds less than the Bluetounge

Dual Battery and Air compressor in D4

Has anyone mounted an air compressor in the D3 2 battery posotion as I intend to install a Traxide second battery D4 kit with a anderson connector near the D3 2nd battery location which could be used to power the compressor.
What is a good compressor to use?
    Thanks

This is an easy thing to do on the D4, put your second battery here in front of the main battery with the Traxide kit and battery tray.

AND put the compressor where the second battery goes on the D3, there is heaps of room there, I'm pretty sure you won't need to move the ECU module either.

ARB do a good compressor that would fit in there nicely.
