Mmmm given the previous posts here are you sure that you have transmission temp? Seems like so far no one has actually cracked the tranny temp. Are there any temp sensors in these things?
Alan
My hawkeye reads trans oil temp, I used it when changing the oil when I done the steel pan.
I haven't tried it whilst the car is moving but cant see why it wouldn't read it all the time. I am unsure what the oil temp would be at normal operating temperature, but it wouldn't be that hard to find.
Cheers Ean

A different approach, my TM4 reads directly from the engine and gear box metal, to get the temp, not the ODBII
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Torque Pro with the Torque Scan plug in even on the basic scan brings up heaps of PID's almost too many to digest, let alone the full scan which would most likely fail as it would take hours to run.
The other issue is that the option of the Scan plugin to email the result does not work, the results are too long to scroll down and screenshot each view.
I have friends with Toyota FJ Cruisers who have entered a custom equation into Torque Pro to show Transmission temp.
It's a bugger we just need to find the PID required.
I havn't given up yet.

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Glad you are getting use out of it Justin. They are great.
So towing a 2 tonn dual axle boat today with car full of peops and 31 degrees outside the 4.6 was 88-90 on the highway and 85-88 typically tooling around backstreets. Highest eas 91 for a couple of second laboring it up a long steep rise. Cooler than stock thermostat. Cheers
