It is a generic cheapo 7" tablet/GPS. Cost about $100. I didn't get the OEM unit fully connected, I had to give it up as too hard after trying for a few weeks to splice the wiring into the existing loom.

The tablet that's in there doesn't have the visibility I would like in direct sunlight, so will be doing something about that soon.

Does the tablet have a gloss screen?
I put a anti glare matt screen protector on my Nexus 7 to fix that problem.

The dimensions given in the manual definitely only cover front to 3/4 of the way back, I've just checked.

Given the body bolted back on to the chassis with no issue, I took that as another good sign that everything was as straight as it needed to be.

It will need a tracking check though.

It does. I might have a look for a screen protector then. Does it affect the touchscreen operation much? Still the same level of sensitivity?

No it does not affect sensitivity, I also had a polarizing problem when wearing sunglasses it fixed that too. Check your screen in the sun turning it from portrait to landscape with polarizing sunnies on.

So, one repainted D4 bumper, with some eBay UK bargain reversing sensors, some D4 rear light clusters, and painted rear handle and trim.

I prefer it to the standard D3 anthracite plastic trim.

Just scrape off the 3 and stick on a 4,know one will ever know

All of a sudden it is worth a few more $$$..

I did think about getting a "." And a 5, and making it a Discovery 3.5
