When I purchased my RRS I was offered the 2yr warranty through Allianz so after a bit of reading I thought yep sounds good,Wrong!!!
I claimed air compressor and lower control arms within the first month and was told no that's "wear n tear" bull**** I say as a lot of the guys on this forum have had there's covered so complained to car yard that I purchased the car from. And after a lot of bitching and moaning they reimbursed my money for the warranty even though I'm still able to use it!!
I cancelled my car insurance with Allianz and I've gone else where!!
Yep to say I'm bitter is an understatement!!

apologies kev, when i do say Allianz or other, i am covered with Allianz.

I have a RRS 2010 that is fully supported by Bruce Lynton Landrover Gold Coast. About 4 months ago i had an option to keep the RRS (with the great engine and all the luxury pack features) or buy a D4 HSE.. Mainly because of the engine i decided to keep the RRS and the dealer put it onto a extended Landrover Warranty that is underwritten by Allianz.

I probably should say i've had some success today with Allianz. Really i left it with my dealer to sort out, and i can say i love my dealer they really bend over backwards to support the customer and ensure they are looked after. I CANNOT say the same for Customer CARE!

We've managed to get some value from Allianz today to address issues and promises they made, although it's really NOT what they should have done, they did do something, which sounds better then what some are getting here..

    Extended Warranties

There are quite a few posts about this topic already.
I did a fair bit of research before purchasing a Extended New Car Warranty through Allianz, and thankfully haven't had to use it yet!

I just sold my 2010 RRS 3.0, I bought the extended warranty when I purchased the car new, I certainly think having it helped sell it, but having read these posts I'm a bit glad I never had to claim on it.
Certainly had to call on the LR warranty a lot during the three years I had the car. Turbos, new engine, brakes and steering etc etc....

I had the LR extended warranty underwritten by Allianz and had the exact opposite experience. I had a couple of claims over the 2 years and no question it was fixed. I'd say it could also come down to the dealer and how they handle a claim as well. I had steering arm bushes covered, a new brake booster & rear diff replaced all under extended warranty. I thought it was excellent value for money.

I think th reason for the hit and miss maybe the dealer. My local guys ensure they support me and use the warranty like it is supposed to be. I have made a number of warranty claims with the, and Allianz has covered. Recently I've had a lot of problems with roadside making promises and not delivering and also landrover customer care just not caring. I also had another dealer attempt a small claim against Allianz in which they refused. However my local guys looked at the material and what it was and is getting them to pay.

I think we've got to find the right dealers.

I was initially disapointed when extended warranty was withdrawn for the defender only a few months after I bought one. I had been planning on getting it and missed out.
In retrospect I missed out on nothing. The quality of work I received from the dealerships was very poor at best. The amount of panel damage done to my car by the dealerships was more than I've accumulated on all the trips I've done combined. The misdiagnosis's, the repeated attempts at simple repairs, the bald faced lies I was subjected to, and the dodging and weaving the dealerships performed to avoid being held to account for any of the above.
Not worth the paper it is written on in my honest opinion.

Hi well I wouldn't be without one. I had a 3 yr extended with Allianz for my D3 , it was one I bought from a broker (Platinum Direct Finance) in may 2010 for $2331 (at the time about $1000 cheaper than the landrover equivalent from the same company). Over the next 3 years I had so many things get replaced under the warranty that I must have saved at least $10000. eg Front Diff, Air Suspension control block , Wheel Bearing, 1/2 cost of front control arms , Heater control unit , exhaust gaskets , just to name a few.
Have just bought a new D4 as the D3 had just come out of warrantee and it was still having issues so time to bail out.
will certainly go for another one - notice that they are only offering 2 year extensions now ? anyone found a 3 yr one ? Are any of the brokers cheaper these days ?
Mind you I had to hound the Dealer constantly about issues - the poor guys at the service desk used to try & hide when they saw me walking in . They have a terrible job having to deal with dissatisfied customers and then also having to argue the point with the insurance companies - you can see why some dealers just give up & side with the insurance people.
anyway that's my 2 bobs worth. rgds

Mate you did have a horror run.....I've read your tales of woe through the last year or so.

What did you end up buying to replace the RRS?

    Cheers,

    Kev.
