    And this....

    I stand to be corrected,they are 265/60/18.
Very close diameter to OEM size.

I've just been to bob janes it looks like the D697's is the right tyre choice and will also send down one mag for trial fitment.

I will inform you all how I go!

Also they offered Grabber SRL tyres a lot cheaper than D697'S, dose anyone know this Grabber brand ( any good)?

    cheers

General Grabber are a good tyre however there are better choices in 18".

I had the GG AT on my D4 in 19"

Performed well but have just replaced them with Cooper Zeon LTZ's due to harmonic vibration noise.

I have not heard of the Grabber SRL tyres.

Did they give you specs or sizes?
    Cheers

My Goodyear Silent Armors got a puncture last year on the Oodnadatta track. When getting a repair in Maree I asked him which tyre he rated. Response was Bridgestone dualers. He said any decent with the right tyre pressure was ok. Anyone with experience with Dick Cepek trail country? The load rating is 110T.

I don't think you can get the SRL in 18". Only 17"

I and many others here run General Grabber AT and AT2. I have run both, I currently have AT's. I like them, I have had no punctures in 75,000 km's of varied terrain including beach sand, desert, dirt and gravel, rocks mud bitumen etc. I have also never been stuck anywhere with them despite lots of opportunity. Some find them noisy, I don't. They are good on bitumen including in the wet.

My one comment is that the AT's seem a little soft in the sidewalls and I have a few nicks, cuts and divots in mine which I didn't seem to get on my AT2s. It might just be bad luck. However none of them are deep enough to cause me any serious concern.

I will probably buy D697s next, just because they are LT and not because I am dissatisfied with the Grabbers. Unless you are young regular extreme driving, if you want to save a few dollars and buy GGs I don't think you will be disappointed. But some here disagree with me, mostly on the basis of noise.

    Hahaha

I know Lyal well as I used to live just out of Marree. He loves Bridgestones, but to be honest everyone up there has had no issues with the Duelers on their land cruisers. They are a good tyre.

I will probably replace my Cooper AT3s with D697s once they are done.

    Cheers

I just got grabber ATs fitted to my D3.

1000k later, both on and off road, they performed really well. Very happy with them.

Key point for me was that they come in original Tyre size, 255/60 r18.

    Cheers

    D697

Just had Bridge stone D697 265 60 r18 fitted to D4 today. Did a lot of searching after the Cooper AT3s let me down.
I believe the Cooper HT are ok if you are not towing and don't do a lot of off road work.
However don't try to claim anything off coopers if you have problems......they dont seem to support customers very well.http://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/smi...ock.gif...Cant get any response to my claims
