    mileage

on my GY Wranglers has been 35000km and they are now done. Probably 10% of that would be towing 2 tons.
Rotated only once, at 20000km so not the kindest owner.

Seems the Pirellis are soft but grippy and quiet.

Still ? anybody with General GT experience?

GG GT is a relatively new tyre, some folk in the uk are using them not sure on verdict. I'd speculate that Pirelli Zero would be easier to obtain (if you damage a tyre). Would also depend on price I suppose

    GT

    Hey Epic Pooh,

Yes as you said new tyres ( or tires as they are yankee) and not much local experience - I did find this discusion on the UK landy site useful - essentially read the first and last post by cellerdweller to get the synopsis - seem equal to or better than the OE Goodyears for performance but probably more durable.

Price - well there lies the rub - quoted $345 per tyre ( Margaret River) and stock available . Compared to $502 for Pirelli ATR ( Bunbury Tyrepower).

    Looking good...

You can get Pirelli Zero in Sydney for $320 - my local tyrepower quoted me less than $400 and had plenty of haggle room. Shop around and haggle your tyre (tire !) guy down !

My generals were a well made tire so I'd expect the same from the GT if that helps at all.

    sheesh!

That's an eye opener - I was in fact put off by the price of the Pirellis. Seems to be less bargaining room here in WA but I will press and see what the best is they can do.

Having said that - it is probably academic as I have pretty much made up my mind on the GT's - but I will do the exercise anyway to see how much they want the business.

Thanks for all your corrospondence Epic Pooh

19" options for Wranglers - HT for on road use 255 55 19s

Digging up an old thread here but can't find the answer I'm looking for in any other threads. I'm starting to look to replace the 19" Wranglers on my D4 but just HT's for road use around town - I have a set of 18" Compomotives with D697's for when I actually to get to use my car off road. Most of the discussion I can find is on ATs for mixed on / off road use.

There seems to be a few options other than the Wranglers - Bridgestone Dueler HP, a few Continentals, GG's, Hankook Dynapro HP2, a couple of Pirellis, Michelin Latitude HP...

Edit: Oh yes, I'm not super price sensitive but Tempe have Wranglers for $269 ...

I don't have any particular issues with the Wranglers but happy to consider alternatives. I would welcome any feedback on other HT options...

    Thanks,
    David

I have Toyo Open Country HT. They are quiet and grip well.
