With respect to the poster I looked them up on tyos site. They give them a 3.5 out of 5 for wet grip.. I read a few reviews and thought you cant have it both ways.. good wet weather performance and long tyre life.. Im still unsure as to what tyre to get.

I can't add anything David, I just run one set of tyres for all purposes. My Hankooks have such good road manners, I wouldn't bother with a separate HT set.

    Cheers,

    Hi Chris,
    What Hankooks are you running?
    Cheers, Mungus.

    Hi Mungus.
Hankook Dynapro ATM. 255/55R19. 40,000km thus far, hopefully get another one 25,000km put of them.

Have also gone back to the original Goodyear Wranglers, a much underrated tyre for universal use. Got 75K out of the original set.

Tyre special on ebay this week

I just bought 4 new Wranglers for $229 each from Tempe tyres on ebay. They normally have them for $269

For anyone else on the verge of buying tyres there is a special on ebay this week with an extra 15% from Tempe tyres and a few other suppliers. I have no affiliation, just thought people might be interested in a good deal...

They ship for free Australia wide and the prices are pretty good to start with, so for example (post discount prices) :

    265/60R18 :

    BFG AT K02 $322
    Hankook RF10 AT $189
    Monsta AT $162
    Monsta mud $162

    255/55R19 Hankook Dynapro RF10 $219

It's been very wet here this week but only normal driving. If I get a chance to flog them in the wet, I'll let you know.
you gotta to relax in the wet, trusting the discovery, advice from old bike rider with lotsa snow time in the car, got Coopers myself, disappointed in the wall burst a tyre gently rubbing a sandstone block, first week after fitting
must admit which tyre to pick was a mystery to me, sine then I'd go for a less expensive rubber

True, although it was 4 years ago and I didn’t just drop a blanket question with no prior research. This is the opening to my post (which I’m assuming you probably missed):

“Digging up an old thread here but can't find the answer I'm looking for in any other threads. I'm starting to look to replace the 19" Wranglers on my D4 but just HT's for road use around town.
I have a set of 18" Compomotives with D697's for when I actually to get to use my car off road. Most of the discussion I can find is on ATs for mixed on / off road use.”

As an aside I recently replaced the Wranglers with Michelin Latitude Tour HP’s and although they are expensive, very happy with them and they do seem slightly more surefooted in the wet than the Wranglers.
