What would you change on your D3/D4, RRS?

Ok so I pinched this idea off the UK site.

If you could redesign / change something on your car ( other than accessories) what would it be?

For me it would be the vehicle being lighter in the first place!
So then after you add your accessories you would still have some kg's to play with.

Secondly - front suspension bushes that last 150,000k!

    Your turn.

    Here's a couple:

Move the location of the bonnet opener (to the correct side of the car),
Move the location of the indicator (to the correct side of the steering column),
Get rid of the epb (replace it with a normal handbrake),
Address the weakness of the spare wheel winch and it's access if vehicle is loaded (replace it with a more durable arrangement that is wound down with a handle via a hole in the bumper),
Replace the stupid plastic coolant parts with a durable material,
The sunroofs should have full blockout blinds,
Improve the external seal around the back doors to stop mud accumulating between the seals,
    My engine should be a s/c 4.2 ...

I'd change that stupid rear mounted belt for the fuel pump on the TD2.7

    Yes to those other suggestions.
Fuel tank yes, plus better protection.

Bonnet latch & blinker swap yes.
EPB - low on my list, I hardly ever use it!
Sunroof blinds - I don't have an issue with them as they are.
Rear door seal - yep it does collect mud well!

Rear timing belt - well yes poor design, especially if you break the bolt/thread then it's body off.

Oh of course the Turbo access -

If they're going to use bigger brakes, open out the wheel arches and lift the suspension to allow the higher profile AT tyres on 19' & 20' wheels.

My biggest gripe so far (only 5 weeks old) with my D4 is the cruise control! My previous Audi would maintain a set speed of + / - 2kph! Not 3 or 4 or 10 but 2kph regardless of the climb or descent ( on road of course).
I think the spare should have an electric winch to lower and raise it rather than a manual one.
Mud flaps should be standard on the car.
Spare parts should not be so ridiculously priced.
I no doubt will come across more but in the meantime I'll just have fun with it.

My only criticism's are the fuel tank & the EPB system.
Larger tank would be a major benefit & the EPB, well Lets just say i am not a fan of either replacing, setting up or cleaning.

All you people complaining of the indicators & Bonnet release.
    PLEASE
Obviously you have only just come across to a better European Vehicle

Another one for a bigger fuel tank. And while Ive never needed to use the spare tyre winch, when I do I'm going to be freaked out.

For camping I'd like a button on the touch screen that sets the car in low power mode so when you open doors etc the various lights, entertainment systems, computers etc don't start up. ( I know you can set the first two now)

Oh and sorry for your enterprize ,Gordon, but I want 18" rim option for SDV6.

For me it's the 18" wheel option on the SDV6.

I'd also want a larger tank if I didnt already have a long range tank.

Maybe slightly higher GVM too.... once you add toys to these things there is not a lot left.
