Watching Kms per liter discussions for a while.
And although its something that we all like to discuss from time to time as its appears to be coming right out of your wallet - its in some ways interesting.
However as most new landrovers or in fact all new prestige vehicles depreciate at around $200.00 + per week just sitting in the garage it all seems a bit pointless really
If you buy a $100k disco/ any vehicle in 5 years your looking at around half that depending on its condition - but even then a well maintained and well looked after specimen is only going to net a few more dollars back (relative to the purchase price) than one that's seen life during wartime.
So while its great to see the money draining from your wallet at a lesser flow as you motor around the countryside .. remember there is a fair torrent running under the rollerdoor every night while you sleep.
If you buy a $20K vehicle and sell in 5 years for 10K you have lost only $40.00 a week under the roller.. but with an enjoyable machine like the disco the flow is at the same rate but with a little more volume.. so just enjoy the drive cos that's what you paid for ..
And if you can afford to loose that sort of money - the difference between a 8 speed and a 6 speed is pretty well a moot point.?
not sure any will agree.?
