Yep, good threads. I do love my D4!

    Got most of them babs....

    Things i dont like....

Most of the gripes... small ones are from do-gooders at Landrover thinking they know better and treating owners like idiots.
    • Latched air is a perfect example... just let people choose to leave it on or not
    • Fuel tank capacity would be much better if again, if they didn't treat you like and idiot and tell you its empty when there is still 10-15 litres in the tank
    • The liar-meter that is the fuel consumption.. whats the point in having it if its BS
    • Towbar is stupid... how can such a big vehicle give you somewhere to stow the hitch but no where to stow the tongue (really!!)
    • Such an awesome sound system but will not play lossless audio files from the media player, only MP3 or CD (any audiophiles out there??)
    • No android support from the USB connection (thats 50% of the market)
    • Keyless entry will only let the key holder open the door first even if he is in range....(ie if the passenger trys to open the door and the driver hasnt then it wont open)
    • Radio turns off in accessory mode after 5 mins. (again. treating people like dummies)
    • The wiring for the electric brakes etc... stupid that it needs to be modded straight out of the factory

    Things I love

    • For the size I cant believe how it drives, smooth, responsive, super comfortable for any trip, on or off road. Craps over anything else that size (other than a RRS)
    • The sound system... just awesome
    • The seat system thats totally flat in multiple configs
    • The look, you can make it a slick city looker or a beefed up explorer
    • The keyless entry and how it works for the rear door, allows you to walk up put something in the back and relocks without touching anything as soon as its closed.
    • The space

Most of the dont likes are small ones and some can be fixed... thankfully!

I see lots of people say this, but mine stays on for somewhere around 45 minutes! The part I don't like is if I have the radio on without the ignition, and I turn it off again, next time I start the car the radio is off. It also stays on if I leave it going when I lock the car.
My other car would turn the radio off (before the radio got blown up) once you locked the car with the fob as it assumed no one would be needing to listen to it.

Mine goes around 30 min.. but then my vehicle gets a decent charge on highway runs.

I have a D3, not a D4 so I probably should stay out of this because the D3 is a better car anyway (because I own 1 http://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

    Pains:
Spare tyre set up from go to woe.
Having to replace lower control arms.
    Having a timing belt.
No room when using all 7 seats.

    Good Stuff:
    Not girly like a D4.
    All round awesome.
    Comfortable.
Puts up with a knock or 2.
    You sit up high.
    It has huge windows.
    All the seats are comfortable.
So good to drive on the dirt.
AND did I mention it's not Girly like a D4?

    PS I covert a D4!

Isn't the radio off delay a programmable setting?
Mine opens all doors if I'm in range & someone grabs a passenger door handle - only opens drivers door if I grab drivers handle ( good safety setting in my opinion )

I know I know Tombie...but the Meridian is such an awesome system .... lol.

Just for some news I put it on AM this morning instead...OMG the AM reception is laughable, it sounded like listening to The American Top 40 on in the 70's and 80's on a Sunday evening before FM came along.

Will have a look in the config menu for the locking... The Leader of the Opposition is away at present so there distinctly less whining coming from that side of the vehicle at present!!!
