Yes I will be going. I actually just sent a note to Gordon because I have not received any details from him. I have booked a room at the Mountain Rivers Park in Rawson but that is all. Have you received any additional details?
Really looking forward to the training and meeting fellow LR owners! Heaps of rain this week so should make for some interesting trails...

I was very keen to go, but had hoped to have my compomotives (ordered back in January) with some decent tyres by now. My D4 came from the 2nd hand dealer with no-name road tyres I'm not sure would be up to the task of much punishment. I've only just realised the weekend is not being run by Gordon. Does anyone have any feedback on the company that are running this training weekend - I checked their website, but this event is not listed on their calendar...?
It says on his website his office is closed due to Vic course so you would assume he is attending.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that...
Can anyone advise if there are any recommended minimum requirements as far as vehicle preparation / tyre suitability goes to participate in one of these trips? I'm keen to attend, but don't want to hold up the group if I damage a tyre or have problems with traction due to my road tyres. I would have replaced them with something more suitable if I hadn't already ordered the compomotives...
No additional details as far as I know. I'm camping at the same spot so will see you there Mike57. My understanding is that all the interstate courses are run by external providers with Gordon in attendance. The company used for the Victoria course seem to have been around for a while. I reckon you'd be fine on roadies. Couldn't be much worse than the OEM tyres and from what I've read on Gordon's website, the course is designed to be suitable for an off-the-shelf LR.
I caught up with Gordon at the Melrose LR Rally over Easter. He was dropping his car off at Adelaide AP, flying back to Perth then flying back to pick up the car and head to Victoria for the training. That was his plan.
When we ran the SA session last year we had cars straight off the showroom floor so I would not be getting too concerned about tyres. Sounds like if you have mud it will be a great opportunity to focus on that setting in terrain response

Great information - thanks. I'll book my place this afternoon when I'm back at home. I might have to go shopping for the required gear this afternoon and get around to installing my uhf sometime this week...!
I'll be camping as well, attending solo (might just sleep in the back if I'm feeling lazy...)
Looking forward to meeting up and learning more about these great vehicles!
Tim
Hi Victim. Book through the GOE online store and if the course if full it should tell you. I know there is a limit on the number of cars but no idea if the course is full.
