I had heard that in the D4 the pipe from the air intake to the airbox was sealed unlike the D3 pipe which is perforated - so sealing the RAI to the side of the car should not be such an issue.

This is what I thought, too, Garry. I'll document what I do for the install so others can evaluate my procedure. I've pretty well pulled the car apart as I fit a Brown-Davis long range tank (I asked them to engineer a lower profile tank 50mm higher), LLAMS, emergency tailgate release, GOE EAS emergency kit, ARB twin compressor grafted to a Traxide dual battery kit and extra USB and GPO outlets and tailgate lighting.

I can say it’s not sealed having installed my Safari. There are entry points at the airbox between the box and the side of the panel for one. The tube running through the side panel is flimsy as well. Could that tube be made watertight - I can’t remember.

For some reason when I installed my Airflow snorkel I kept the hose that runs along the inner guard. I can confirm it is wrapped in a plastic sleeve and would be water tight. I would think the main issues with the LR raised air intake would be trying to seal both ends of that hose so they were watertight. Also the connection between the inner guard and the air box might need a sleeve to make a tight seal rather than just two rubber edges butted against one another. Also remember NOT to use silicon as the sealant. You MUST use Mastic. Silicon does something to the running of the car (sensors I think)

It's been mentioned in other threads Ritter provide this kit but when I contacted them last week, this was the response:
"With regards to a water proofing kit, it is not a parts kit we sell. To guarantee waterproofing of a factory raised air intake we would need to install this for you."
