Yes, up to 10% above the actual speed.
In practice, most vehicles I've checked using a GPS seem to be around 5% at 100 kmh. That's assuming the GPS is accurate, of course.
I'm told that in Qld the radar is set to ping at 3kmh above the speed limit.
FFS Who gives a rats arse , just do 100KMH on your speedo or GPS and be done with it .![]()

Wow! We're a bit more relaxed over here in WA. Here I generally cruise past at 107 in a 100 zone and don't get a flash. I *have* had flashes at 108, but never been sent an infringement. Of course the day I missed the change of speed sign and went past at 107 in a 90 zone I copped it!
The digital speedo I built for my Volvo is accurate to about 0.2% at 100kph, so I kinda pay attention to exactly how far I can push the boundaries. In the D3 I use the GPS speedo on the phone to tweak the cruise control settings. Not anywhere near as accurate, but still better than a waving needle.
106kmh cruise set speed on the D4 equals 101kmh on the GPS (that uses between 5 geosynchronous sattelites to fix position).
This is running std 19" rims and 55 profile tyres. Error of 5% appears consistent throughout the speed range.
Unfortunately speed cameras don't apply the same tolerances, 3%max is about it I think.
Lasy i checked Europe has 0 to 10% tolereance as std on autobahns/freeways, but much tighter in suburban and pedestrian zones where limits are say 30 or 40kmh.
