Thread: What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Knocked this bracket up today out of a few bit of scrap flat bar.

Installed an Elinz tyre pressure monitoring system today. Ordered from Amazon at $103 but you can buy directly. Monitors four wheels via external screw on sensors. These went on easily and apparently securely; I am using the locking nuts but other comments on Aulro seem to indicate they are not really needed. The screen is small with two USB ports and it displays battery voltage too. Can be set to PSI or Bar. Max and minimum tyre pressure alarm levels can be customised, as can the max temperature alarm level. If you wanted to lower the low pressure alarm (sand driving) it would only take 10 to 15 seconds to do so. The unit operated fine out of the box and the alarm noise level is sufficient to be quickly notified of an issue. The unit can be installed in the cigarette lighter socket or via a separate small stand (with a sticky base). I went with the cig lighter socket, but the fit was a bit loose. I tightened it up by using some leftover sticky pads that I had from some removable 3M hooks (the ones you can remove without taking off the paint). Worked really well. Seems to be a good unit for the price.

Very good unit. I don’t have the branded version.

Given them a hiding and going strong.

New tyres and a diameter change so whipped out the IID and GPS speed monitoring to recalibrate the speedo so it reads correctly

Have just ordered a set of MOAB 18" alloys to replace the 19" OEM alloys on the D4 and will be booking in the fitting of the GFGoodrich 265/60R18 KO2s in the coming week. I will also be looking to use the GAP IID tool to adjust speedo. Any tips?

Find a nice levelish piece of road where you can drive 100 or 110km/h thats got some good locations to pull of the road so you can reflash the CCF. For my D3 its just and adjustment to the tyre radius in the CCF /instrument pack/tyre radius. Theres a little trail and error in getting the speed right

The usual "as built" speedo setting is set at 3.5% below actual and at +2kph.
Although each of these parameters has a number of settings, it appears as if there are only two main market settings. In Genesis, this is displayed under Jaguar Speedometer Calibration Market which can be found under the Warnings and Messages tab. The choices are:
Market 0: 3.5% + 2kph
Market 1: 2.0% + 0kph
Accordingly, if the above is set to Market 0, then the following parameters are also set:
Jaguar KPH Offset: +2kph
Jaguar Percentage Scaling Factor: 3.5%
I changed all three settings as follows:
Market 1: 2.0% + 0kph
Jaguar KPH Offset: 0kph
Jaguar Percentage Scaling Factor: 2%
This gives a spot on speedo on 19” 255/55/19 and 18” 265/60/18

The Land Rover gods were smiling on me the other day. I accidentally left the key fob in my work pants and it ended up washed. The key still works! Didn’t have to pull it apart or anything. Goes to show how water efficient a front loader washer is. Thanks Land Rover gods!
