What happened to your D3/D4 today?

What happened? Well my LV is broken (Toyota) so I’ve driven it out to the mine for the day What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Think I’ll stripe it all up so I can bring it out more often rather than under escort.

So I programmed it to let me use the fob to raise or lower the suspension. Neat little party trick - not sure when I would use this but cool it can be done.

the process is so long winded you may as well just lower it while still in the vehicle.

Well, not so much 'What I did to my D3' as to 'What my D3 did for a mate' a week ago!

Said mate has just had a heap of metal pins placed in his lower spine. A couple of days before leaving hospital, his physio requested that he try and get into a vehicle.

Now, this bloke has a current Mustang, a two month old Mercedes CLS 350 hybrid and his wife has an Hyundai sedan. The Hyundai was used for the exercise, which was a complete non event.

I had previously mentioned to him that, if needs be, I would be prepared to chauffeur him to home in the D3, as access would be easier. I then got the call from him that I was indeed required.

What a piece of cake! During the hour long journey, he was effusive about the Disco's height adjustment and general on road comfort, so much so that, after a trip to his local GP in the Hyundai last Friday, he called me to see if I wanted to sell my D3.

Sadly, it looks as though he may have to sell the Merc and 'stang for medical/physical reasons. The Merc is a cracker!

Once set up it is quick and easy to raise or lower with the ignition off - but you do need the hazard lights on.

Makes me wonder if it was intended to be used when changing a flat tyre (such as you need more clearance for the jack and had not raised to off-road height first).

Or it was just a sales gimmick.

IIRC a separate remote could be ordered from LR to do this on D2's, I wonder if that is the case with D3's?

Spent an hour or so trying to find more information and where possibly I might be able to get the remote, nothing!

Supplementary is that is a standard fitment in the vehicle and just a control and program or is it an additional module required and if so, where would it be located?

Doubt the previous owner even knew it could, well I didn''t !!!!
Now I'm wondering if all four functions could be programmed on to a multiple button remote like this?
