    d/side door lock actuator

I think this is my 3rd door lock actuator replacement on different vehicles (all D4) but must say its getting easier to do. first one years ago was a real pain but this time round seemed to go smoothly with experience. previously i would remove the window regulator out of the vehicle this time left and push to one side, last time removed the ext door handle this time left in place, last time spent hours trying to release the clip from the door handle to the actuator (bugger to remove) this time rotated the actuator so it lines up nicely through the hole of the striker and easy peasy, you can see what your doing unclip and your done. Of course when reinstalling I forgot one window connector and had to undo the door card again to reclip into position but its now an easy job for me. just take your time and make sure all connectors are connected before replacing door card.

On another note ordered a new turbo from the UK which was approx $1000 for a good brand but then was hit by a further $300 for fees, taxes etc. still came out cheaper then local prices and one place advertised for over $4000 for single primary turbo.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Haven’t done anything, yet, goods still in transit…

Tuff-Rok mud flaps on their way (with a custom touch What happened to your D3/D4 today?)

And my new Piano Black and perforated Leather Steering wheel should arrive Thursday.

All going well today, should have the second UHF installed.

1 continually scanning (with talk channel excluded), the other on the talk channel.

Has proven very handy in convoys.

Shifter and loom replaced and faults/issues gone, modded the brackets on the air tank so I can mount it with air fitting up high although it would have bolted in up the other way.

Replaced the rear right hand door actuator due to it not locking/unlocking the door with the remote.

Hardest part was getting my hands in to disconnect the window and regulator.

The Powerful YouTube videos are certainly a good reference.

If you leave the drive off lock on you will wear the actuator out a lot quicker ,I think I replaced 3 in the first 2 , 3 years haven’t replaced one in the last 5 years.

I’ve only replaced 1 in a MY08 with no drive off lock function
