    Came up alright I thought.
Mine are shockingly cracked and aged on that top edge. Only thing is I don’t find any of the treatments hold over time. I haven’t tried ones that have the UV protectant final stage though.

IIRC, some clear coat over the top once polished preserves them longer term.

This looks promising! Keen to see the result. Have been thinking of doing something similar along with an inverter in that rear left side. I had the panel off to install a DAB aerial a couple of weeks back, there’s a fair amount of space in there!

Even more so once the foam and bracket are removed.

Quick question that I thought wasn’t worth it’s own thread:

I need an extra hole in my firewall as I’ve run out of space in the one that’s next to the brake pedal. If I drill a hole close to the existing one, is there anything of importance between the 2 firewall skins that I should watch out for? I’m not sure if there’s any pipes or electrical wires that are hidden between the firewall skins.

What happened to your D3/D4 today? thanks

Hi John, have you use both holes in the firewall.

There is the clutch cable grommet at the top of the firewall and another smaller hole way down behind the accelerator peddle.

The smaller hole is still big enough to run two 6B&S cables through it.

No, I didn’t know about the accelerator hole. Thanks for that. I’m after a few more amps at the tow bar so I was thinking about changing my 8B&S for 6B&S.

If you shine a torch light down the firewall, from inside the battery compartment on the driver’s side, you can see the plastic grommet in the firewall, way down low on the wall.

On the other side of the firewall, that is the left side behind the battery there is room to squeeze a cable through as well.I can’t remember exactly how,and the vehicle has gone to a new owner,so I can’t look.I may have pushed it through the side of a large grommet that had factory wires going through it as well.

    That’s for D4.

Went to a self serve wrecker for a gear shifter with loom and got another eas reservoir for $20 and the 11th cup holder for $9, shifter and loom for $68 with warranty.
Already found some bolt holes that will be close to lining up once I bend up a bracket.
