Just a suggestion, try Lanolin spray.

WD40 and petrolium jelly can damage some plastics and rubber, but lanolin won't harm any surface and dries to a protective covering.

Also great for protecting electrical connectors and battery terminals.

DO NOT USE ANYTHING ON ANDERSON TERMINAL. They must remain dry as they are a Self Wiping contact.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I don't seem to have that fitting or the coffee for that matter even though mine is an MY09 SE. I will try and find one if I can to retrofit as it is a good position. Thanks Nick

My lithium power box pretty much lives in my van full time now, and a buddy of mine just bought this. Thinking about getting one for myself. Can I just run this in line with my Varta AGM starter battery?

Thanks for the suggestion...I should have given that a thought as I had some lanolin in the shed. Also had silicone spray and white lithium spray as well... which is better?

I was a bit disappointed overall in the performance when it seemed to be all working fine in the old car. Definitely seemed to better when stationary but didn't quite do as much as I thought it would when I needed it.
There appears to be a bit of dark art in being able to get the best internal antenna placement relative to external antenna and booster for best Cel-Fi performance. I have looked at a number of forum topics online and they promote keeping as much distance between the antennas as possible. We will need to play around with this as we go. Shame that you had things working well in the previous setup only to now have issues. The joys of electronics!

Tombie what are your thoughts on using a smaller magnetic external antenna on the roof as opposed to a big GME one that I have to mount from the side of the bonnet?

Yes the joy of electronics alright! Hope your setup goes well anyway! Old setup was same antenna but on the bull bar which I now don't have. I never had the same error when doing the antenna placement test though which makes me feel like I've broken something in the little internal antenna when I prised it from the Prado.

My external is on the bullbar, the internal under the dash on drivers side.

Puts the firewall between the two.

Up on the corner of bonnet will be too close for everything I’d say.
