The USB C standard allows for much higher charge rates than USB A...

Hi Wiggy781, assuming your laptop has a 4G SIM or Dongle for direct cellular connection, or WiFi connection to your mobile phone hotspot and is within range of the internal antenna....then yes. We are working on the expectation that when we are in camp we will be able to improve our signal strength in fringe areas and as a result improve our data download bandwidth for internet access. We will be playing around to see what works in terms of internal antenna position (relative to the rooftop platform antenna.). Positioning the antennae up on the cargo barrier may work ok, but it may be better lower down to give more distance from the roof antenna. We intend to run the Cel-Fi off the secondary Lithium battery when in camp.

Yeah because the devices that use it can tolerate it, in my previous post I forgot to mention that older phones etc.. With older technology can't handle a 5v source with the capability of 3 amp. Devices that hold a USB C port can handle the higher currents and fast charge rates.

Hmmm. I’ve not had that issue. I have 3.1amp chargers for all my kit when camping and each device charges fine from 5W devices to 15W. They take what they can receive and no more. What happened to your D3/D4 today?

I've had phones and tablets that will charge but if you try to use them will not react.. Change the plug they're fine. They only do it while the are sub 50% battery. My iPhone 6 did it the worst. The kids tablets were cheapie and do it too. The newer phones have a charger system built into them I'm told (phone Shop) to stop damage from faster charging killing the battery.
