Yes. I need a hoist too. I too am too old for grovelling on the ground. My next house will get a hoist (I say every time).

Its the tyres, you’ll use an extra 0.7-1.0l/100km on these compared to HT’s. I run mine at around 43-45psi cold, gives pretty good economy, but the rides a bit harsher due to the LT construction. I’m on 9.3-9.5l/100km on my 980’s, about 30,000km in.

I only had my car for 1 day and changed the tyres. But what I did notice was that the new tyres even though same size as OEM, are a lot heavier. Then when I went to Compomotives and 18" tryes they are a lot heavier again than the Maxxis on the OEM rims. Results are that with maxxix tyres I get better (true measured) L/100kms, than the 18". Extra weight, more rolling resistance= more energy to rotate tyres = more fuel used. Its not great difference but about 1/2 ltr per 100kms

    43-45..wow that's up there😉

I run that pressure on a tipper trailer carrying 3 tons firewood...never on a car. Would that not run out the tyre centres fast and make them behave like a skateboard esp in the wet? I run 32-35 for daily use. Dealer had 28 in them no doubt to accentuate the ride!

The Gen.2 Zip Kit I returned is probably the right one for your D4 which is a ZF6HP28

Don’t discount a pit. I’ve got access to a pit at a friends house. They are soooo good.

Almost impossible to construct now with the compliance requirements.

And can’t do body off jobs with a pit What happened to your D3/D4 today?
Or park another vehicle underneath What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Of course I’d love to have a hoist but that is next level dream world stuff needing space and height lacking in inner suburban settings. Fortunately the local men’s shed has one What happened to your D3/D4 today?

The pit is quick and simple for most service jobs and makes life easy.

I have the zip kit and seals etc. I will order fluid shortly. I’m going to reuse the solenoids as I’m happy they’re working fine. I’ll go genuine fluid again though I have been running non-genuine Motul fluid for 50,000km without issue. I’ll do a 20L triple flush.
I expect my gearbox won’t work again once the work is completed What happened to your D3/D4 today?
Will you be using Rivets or Rivnuts to fasten the sump?
