Left the remote in my pocket and it went through a washing cycle. Needless to say it no longer works.
    Cheers, Mungus.

Bummer. I would have a go at opening the case and drying the electronics out. You may recover it and can always then buy a new outer case.

On the upside it’s clean though.

Going to try all the above and maybe an ultrasonic clean from a computer mob. Typically what’s done for water damaged electronics. Just getting out from popliteal aneurysm bypass surgery today, so it’ll have to wait.
    Cheers, Mungus.

    Wouldn’t bother.

Buy a key from eBay and have it programmed with a GAP tool. $30

Hope surgery went smoothly. Speedy recovery.

$30 seems low? I only see them for $100+?

That really is an old wives tale. Anything that survives the "rice in the bag" was going to survive regardless. Silica gel works well, but rice adsorbs very little moisture.

I'd pull it to bits and disconnect any batteries, rinse it with distilled/deionised water followed by isopropyl alcohol. A couple of hours in the fan forced oven at ~60C and then a day in silica gel (for the really complex stuff that can't be further disassembled).

Disconnect the battery is the most critical part. No potential, no electrolysis.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Had a service @ 120k km which included replacement of the lower control arms, bushes, bolts, which had been knocking a bit over the last 9 months or so.
What a difference it’s made. Didn’t realise how ****ty steering and stopping had become.

I do wonder why, however, service providers and tyre shops seem to figure that 40 psi is the only number for tyre pressure.

Went over to my parents house to collect some of the firewood we cut down in the backyard but was to muddy to collect, thought it had dried out a little but I was very wrong.
1hr of winching later and I got back up, boot full of gum was no help at all.
